Web3 gaming platform UFO Gaming has officially launched Phase 2 of its rollout, marking the debut of Super Galactic on the mainnet of the Beam network.
What Is Super Galactic?
Super Galactic is a top-down shooter and the inaugural play-to-earn game within the UFO Gaming ecosystem. Players can download it on Windows PCs, with an Android version on the horizon and browser support already available. This free-to-play game allows participants to step into the role of UFOeps soldiers, each endowed with elemental powers like fire, electricity, and kinetic energy. Players can customize their loadouts and dive into action-packed PvP and Team Deathmatch scenarios.
Owning NFTs from the game unlocks the play-to-earn feature, enabling players to earn the upcoming UAP token by completing missions in single-player mode. Currently, NFT holders can already accumulate UAP by engaging in PvP battles, with future plans allowing the token to be utilized for weapon upgrades, character enhancements, and the breeding of new warriors to diversify the player roster. With the game transitioning from closed beta, now presents an opportune moment for new players to engage without the necessity of connecting a crypto wallet.
What’s New in UFO Gaming’s Phase 2 Rollout?
The commencement of Phase 2 signifies that Super Galactic has transitioned out of closed beta and is now officially operational on the Beam mainnet, with the game’s core mechanics refined for an enjoyable user experience. This update allows players to access the game via web browsers or desktop without needing to connect a crypto wallet or hold an NFT, with an Android version anticipated to launch shortly after final tests.
With the game now in open beta, developers have the opportunity to collect extensive feedback as they test the game on a larger scale, aiming to enhance the web3 experience and potentially attract web2 gamers. The primary objective of this new phase is to ensure that the game can accommodate a growing player base while monitoring performance across various platforms and addressing community-reported issues to deliver a smoother blockchain gaming experience. Players can select characters and weapons, choose preferred servers, and participate in three available game modes: single-player missions, PvP, and Team Deathmatch. Those who were hesitant to try the game previously can now easily access it via their browsers, allowing them to experience it firsthand before committing to purchasing a Genesis Origin NFT, which is essential for accessing play-to-earn features.
For existing Genesis Origin NFT holders, the game offers a play-to-earn mode where players can compete for on-chain $UAP rewards in PvP and Team Deathmatch matches. Players can create their usernames, avatars, and select their NFT warriors while choosing their favorite melee and ranged weapons, all while forming a cohesive team to jointly earn token rewards.
While the single-player deploy missions have been fully tested and are operational, the UAP reward system for these missions is not yet functional. As a result, the deploy button will remain inactive until the UAP smart contract is properly launched, which has already undergone an audit by Certik. This feature is expected to be introduced in Phase 3, allowing NFT holders to earn tokens during missions and spend them on character and weapon upgrades, along with other features like breeding. Additionally, plans for NFT renting have been hinted at, and the team has teased an exciting development within the Mothership located at the UFO Gaming Hub, which is said to connect with $UFO, UAP, and another undisclosed aspect. They believe this will significantly alter how players interact within the ecosystem, with Genesis Origin NFT holders being the first to discover these changes.
How to Play to Earn in UFO Gaming’s Super Galactic
To participate in the play-to-earn model of UFO Gaming’s Super Galactic, players must possess a Genesis Origin NFT. This NFT can be minted by visiting the UFO Gaming Hub and clicking the “Mint Now” button. After connecting your wallet to Beam, you will be directed to the Super Galactic Collection, where you can find another “Mint Now” button. This will lead you to the minting page, allowing you to select the number of NFTs you wish to mint and your payment method, either in USDT or $BEAM. The cost for minting one Genesis Origin NFT is set at $250, and the rarity of the NFT received will be unknown until the minting process is complete. The rarity distribution stands at 68% Common, 30% Uncommon, 1.8% Rare, and 0.2% Epic NFTs, with a total supply capped at 10,000, or 1,000 units per design. As of now, 310 NFTs have been minted.
